Weekly Morning Meditation

About this event

Opening the day with mindfulness can change everything, helping us live our lives with more clarity, kindness, and ease. Join us Friday mornings as we open our doors early and practice together.

Each session starts off with a teaching rooted in the Jewish calendar and ends with a chant. The rest is simply guided, silent meditation. No prior meditation experience necessary; everyone is welcome.

Please plan on arriving between 8:20 AM and 8:30 AM so that we can start promptly at 8:30 AM.

Stay afterwards to co-work in our space, replete with coffee and snacks (day passes are available for non-members).

Rotating teachers include Rav Naftali Hirsch, Jes Golden, and Rabbi Ariel Hendelman

Rav Naftali Hirsch offers ritual, prayer, and teachings profoundly shaped by a decade of meditative practice and study of mystical texts in Hasidut and Kabbalah. Rav Naftali currently serves as the Jewish resident chaplain at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, as well as teaching meditation for Or haLev, the Jewish Learning Collaborative, and here at Lehrhaus, where he is also a learning guide. Rav Naftali lives in Somerville, MA, and enjoys spending whatever time he can in the woods or in the kitchen with things that bubble, fizz, and stew.

Jes H. Golden, Ph.D. is a meditation teacher and scholar-practitioner studying the philosophy of bodily awareness and advanced contemplative practices as a Postdoctoral Affiliate with the Meditation Research Program at Harvard Medical School/Mass General Hospital. As a meditation teacher, Jes weaves embodied Jewish practices with philosophical and neuroscientific insights and leads sits, classes, and retreats regularly for the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, Or HaLev, RUACH, and Lehrhaus. Jes lives in Somerville, MA with her wife and beloved community.
