About this event

A weekly invitation to slow down and rest deeply. This class combines guided Yoga Nidra with a live sound bath, giving you space to step away from the pace of daily life. What is Yoga Nidra? Yoga Nidra, often translated as “yogic sleep,” is a guided meditation practiced lying down. Unlike a typical yoga class, there’s no movement involved. You simply rest and follow the teacher’s voice. The aim is to reach a state of deep relaxation where the body rests and the mind stays gently aware, similar to the moment just before falling asleep. The practice follows a structured sequence. You’ll start by setting a personal intention, called a sankalpa. Then you’ll be guided to move your attention through different parts of the body, notice the breath, and observe sensations and images as they come and go. You don’t need to concentrate hard or clear your mind. The guidance does the work, and your only job is to listen. Yoga Nidra draws on traditional yogic teachings, and its modern form was developed in the mid-20th century. Today it’s widely practiced as an accessible way to experience deep rest. If you drift off during class, that’s completely normal. Your body likely needed the rest. The Sound Bath Throughout the practice, live sound from singing bowls and other instruments fills the room. The tones and vibrations create a calming backdrop that helps the mind settle and the body release. No prior yoga or meditation experience is needed. Students rest in a fully supported position with bolsters and blankets. This class is ideal for anyone looking to unwind, reset, or balance a more active practice.
