This darkly funny play follows a teenager with a disorder causing her to age 4 ½ times faster than normal. Her life is further complicated by a dysfunctional family: her father is an alcoholic, her mother is a self-centered hypochondriac, and her aunt is a forger and a thief. Together with Jeff, her unlikely, misfit friend, Kimberly tries to make some sort of sense of everything.
VPA presents Kimberly Akimbo as the original play, which later inspired the Tony Award-winning musical of the same name.
