- ➤ MetroWest will welcome seven new restaurants offering varied cuisines including pizza, Vietnamese dishes and Brazilian steakhouse fare, with openings planned for early to mid-2026. Haven Hot Chicken in Franklin is set to open on Jan. 14 while Blue Square Pizza in Natick expects an April debut in a mixed-use center. MetroWest Daily News

- ➤ Gov. Maura Healey ordered state flags to fly at half-staff from yesterday until Officer LaPorta’s internment to honor him after he died in a crash on icy Route 146. The order applies to all state buildings in Massachusetts. MetroWest Daily News
