- ➤ Open burning season in Massachusetts runs from Jan. 15 to May 1. Framingham residents are advised to secure a permit and burn only approved agricultural waste between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. while keeping fires at least 75 feet from dwellings. MetroWest Daily News
