- ➤ Massachusetts gas prices dropped slightly to an average of $2.81 per gallon on Monday from $2.83, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The rate is 7% lower than a year ago and remains just above the national average of $2.78 per gallon. MetroWest Daily News

- ➤ The MIAA baseball committee approved a proposal on Jan. 13 to reinstate the Super 8 tournament in 2027 featuring power ranking selections, a best of three first round series that gives each team a home game and an opt out clause for lower division teams, according to local coaches.
