New MA education regulations now let colleges propose pilot programs that lower credit requirements so students can earn bachelor’s degrees in three years.

Gov. Healey said the measure will make higher education more affordable and boost innovation in meeting workforce needs.

Ninety-two schools statewide received grants for Credit for Life fairs that teach high school students financial skills, including Framingham High School (awarded $3,700) while 25 schools serving low- to moderate-income students got extra funds.

The grants totaling $383,420 were announced on Feb. 11.
