- ➤ Gas prices in Massachusetts rose to $3.31 per gallon on March 9, up 26 cents from March 3, as AAA Northeast reported that rising crude oil costs + global supply issues spurred a 30% weekly gain. MetroWest Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ From July 2024 to July 2025, Massachusetts recorded 33,340 more residents leaving than arriving—international moves, births, and deaths added 15,524 to its total. Census data shows the Northeast lost 205,552 residents to domestic migration during this period. MetroWest Daily News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported that an eighth child died from the flu this season, raising the state's total to 306. Health officials note low vaccination rates in some areas and urge more residents to get vaccinated soon. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ Massachusetts residents can now request a virtual second opinion from Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, where over 150 doctors review medical records for conditions from cancer to neurological disorders. The service, costing $790 for non-California patients+ is available today with an option for a virtual consultation. MetroWest Daily News
