Good morning, Framingham.
🎭 Culture
Framingham is honoring 10 women who made significant contributions during a Women’s History Month exhibit and ceremony.
The inductees, chosen from 22 nominees with three recognized (posthumously), will be formally celebrated at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 25 at Nevins Hall.
📰 Economy
Gas prices in Massachusetts reached an average of $3.32 per gallon on Monday (U.S. Energy Information Administration) after rising from last week's $2.90.
The price is about 13% higher than a year ago and roughly 5.3% below the national average.
🌲 Environment
State environmental officials said Monday that even 3 feet of snow in some areas was not enough to end the critical drought in parts of Central Massachusetts because the cold kept most water locked in the snow.
Forecast rains will slowly recharge local water systems while residents are urged to conserve water.
🏛️ Government
MBTA will run free shuttle buses and extra commuter rail cars on Sunday, March 15 for the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade; commuters on the Framingham/Worcester Line should expect adjusted schedules & road closures that aim to ease crowding in the parade area.
