EDUCATION NEWS

  • On March 10, SGA updated FY27 funding allocations and deadlines (Mar. 26 for funding, Apr. 3 for purchases) while surveying a proposed Serenity Center and approving senate appointments. Members will meet the administrators on Apr. 7 and join Spicy Bingo on Apr. 16.  The Gatepost
  • The University’s IT department will upgrade about 1,100 campus Wi‑fi access points this summer, replacing roughly 500 units (on a five‑year cycle) to keep the network strong for all users.  The Gatepost
  • Justine Bohl, the finance coordinator at Framingham State, explained her switch from a science career to supporting student success and the benefits of a close, team-focused environment. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Philip Di Blasi was sworn in as the new chief of the Framingham State University Police Department on March 2 at the McCarthy Center Forum — he said he will observe campus activities and work with students, staff, and faculty to improve support.  The Gatepost

SPORTS NEWS

  • MIAA basketball state finals run from today through Sunday at the Tsongas Center in Lowell with 10 games spanning multiple divisions. Friday features a doubleheader with Medfield’s undefeated team and both Saint Mary’s teams.  MetroWest Daily News
  • The Framingham State Rams women's basketball team clinched the MASCAC Tournament Championship with a 63-59 win over Bridgewater on March 1, securing a berth in the NCAA Tournament as they build on a season marked by a strong comeback plus significant local support.  The Gatepost
  • On March 9, Framingham State women’s lacrosse beat Emmanuel—10–6—as Jenna James scored six goals and earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week before the team heads to Florida.  The Gatepost
