CULTURE NEWS

  • Framingham State hosted Regie Gibson at the annual Miriam Levine Reading on Wed, Apr. 1 at the Heineman Ecumenical Center; Gibson, chosen among over 100 applicants as the first Commonwealth poet laureate, will be sworn in on May 30 with the Arts & Ideas series co-sponsoring the event.  The Gatepost

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On March 14, The Gatepost earned third place in the New England College Newspaper of the Year category plus five additional awards at the New England Better Newspaper Competition. The honors recognized strong writing and innovative photo spreads, with students like Maddison Behringer celebrated for their excellence.  The Gatepost

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The University installed displays to boost sustainability, featuring a dining hall mural with food waste facts, a flipped Earth + diverse fists sign outside O’Connor Hall, and a Bee Campus USA marker near Hemenway Labs, while director Ruirui Zhang updates the Climate Action Plan for green projects.  The Gatepost

SPORTS NEWS

  • After a comeback effort, the Rams lost to the USM Huskies 12-9, dropping their record to 3-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Framingham State will host Fitchburg State today.  The Gatepost
  • The Framingham State softball team played a doubleheader against Anna Maria on March 29, losing the first game but winning the second 6-5 (1-1 conference, 5-11 overall). They will host the Bridgewater State Bears today for their next conference game.  The Gatepost
