EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Framingham High School Robotics Club is set to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championship after earning design and tournament finalists honors at the state championship in March — the event will run from April 21-24 at America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis. MetroWest Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Drivers in Massachusetts must obey a state law that generally prohibits wearing headphones while driving except for one earbud used for hands-free calls (if mounted and for drivers aged 18+). The law imposes fines from $100 to $500 for successive violations. MetroWest Daily News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Parmenter Foundation launched its UGrieve program at Framingham State University on Wednesday, April 8 to support college students facing grief during Fresh Check Day. The event at the McCarthy Center Forum featured a grief-support booth offering immediate access to resources + information. MetroWest Daily News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The 130th Boston Marathon is scheduled for Monday, Apr. 20 on Patriots' Day. The race starts in Hopkinton, runs through Framingham, Natick and other nearby towns, and finishes near the Boston Public Library; spectators should check the guide for eight designated viewing spots (including the Framingham Train Depot).
