- ➤ Nelson Peña de Jesús (president of Nestlé USA’s Global Culinary Kitchen) withdrew as the 2026 Undergraduate Commencement keynote speaker, citing concern his presence might distract from celebrating the Class of 2026. University officials are now seeking a replacement speaker. The Gatepost
- ➤ Access Framingham is launching multiple summer internship opportunities in beat reporting, social content creation, sports videography, and animation in a community media setting. The 12-week programs (10-18 hours per week) will give students and professionals hands-on experience to build their portfolios. The Frame
- ➤ Former University President Paul Weller (1985–1996) passed away April 3 and is remembered for launching the Arts & Humanities series, creating the Christa McAuliffe Center after the Challenger disaster, and guiding the college through its 150th anniversary. The Gatepost
- ➤ On April 7, SGA held its second forum where student representatives asked administrators about the commencement speaker change and campus facility concerns. - ➤ Emilce Cordeiro has become the new World Languages Department Chair at Framingham State after impressing the faculty with her international background + innovative approach to course design. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Fresh Check Day focused on mental health and suicide prevention with tables run by groups including Wellness and Prevention and the Counseling Center at the McCarthy Center forum on April 8, connecting students with local campus support (promoting resource awareness). The Gatepost
- ➤ Planet Fitness will offer free workouts (for both members and nonmembers) to marathon runners from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island from April 17 to 19. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Rams rallied from a 4-0 deficit to win the first game 5-4 but lost the second 7-3 in a doubleheader against the Buccaneers on April 7 (record now 3-15 overall and 1-9 in conference). They will face the MCLA Trailblazers on April 11. The Gatepost
- ➤ Framingham State Rams split their doubleheader on April 4, losing 11-1 in game one and winning 9-1 in game two. The win — driven by a walk-off homer from Paolino and strong defense — improved their conference record to 2-2 and overall record to 6-12. The Gatepost
