CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Framingham and Wayland firefighters discovered human remains near Exit 117 on the Mass Pike on April 10 while fighting a brush fire—preliminary details indicate the remains may have been there for several months with no sign of foul play. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ On March 16, police said an Ashland man named Samuel Delaney Jr. shot another man on Waverly Street in Framingham after a dispute over a woman—he was arrested on April 11 and is held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing set for April 17. MetroWest Daily News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Framingham Health Department said it stopped last year's bi-weekly cyanobacteria testing at Lake Cochituate and Lake Waushakum — now using weekly E. Coli tests to keep beach operations safe. The department continues monitoring water quality to meet strict public health guidelines for beach permits. City of Framingham

- ➤ Framingham City Councilor Adam Steiner said on April 14 he will not run again this fall to focus on work and family — his decision may lead to fresh ideas on the council. Nomination papers for council seats for the Nov. 4 election will be available on May 30. MetroWest Daily News

- ➤ Data released showed that homes in Middlesex County had higher prices in January, with the median sale price rising from $750,000 to $775,000—up 3.3% from December and 14% higher than January last year. - ➤ Nearly 32,000 runners are set to start the Boston Marathon on April 21 in Hopkinton, with around 30,000 expected on race day and over 4,600 being Massachusetts residents.
