  • MetroWest Mediation Services will host its annual Celebration of Mediation on May 7 at 5:30 p.m. at La Cantina Italiana in Framingham; keynote speakers Doug Stone and Sheila Heen will discuss Difficult Conversations while the event honors Li Morrison ahead of her retirement this fall.  MetroWest Daily News
  • FSUPD announced a new Autism Awareness patch campaign for April that features a rainbow infinity symbol design & supports campus involvement, following a Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism training at William James College which provided tools for improved officer communication with individuals on the spectrum.  The Gatepost

  • FSU students explore local coffee shops — The Coffee Loft near Marlborough Public Library offers creative drinks and events, and Marylou’s downtown provides a retro vibe with unique concoctions like the Funky Fanabla.  The Gatepost

  • After Nelson Peña de Jesús withdrew as the 2026 commencement speaker, University officials chose Sheena Collier, CEO of Boston While Black, to speak at the ceremony, announced President Nancy Niemi on April 14.  The Gatepost
  • Maureen Dutile serves as Student Payroll Coordinator at Framingham State. A native of Framingham and an alum of Assumption University, she values working with diverse students and admires the campus grounds (meticulously maintained by the crew) as a key part of the college experience.  The Gatepost
  • On April 14, Arts & Ideas hosted Bryan Alexander’s lecture at the Heineman Ecumenical Center & via Zoom to discuss the challenges of higher education including polycrisis and artificial intelligence.  The Gatepost

SPORTS NEWS

  • The 130th Boston Marathon takes place on Monday, April 20 — Patriot’s Day — with races beginning as early as 9:06 a.m. ET and the finish line closing at 5:30 p.m. Local viewers can catch live coverage on WCVB Channel 5 starting at 4 a.m.  MetroWest Daily News
  • After a 7-5 win in extra innings on April 10, the Framingham State Rams swept the MCLA Trailblazers on April 11 with 9-1 & 2-1 wins, improving to 4-10 in conference & 6-17 overall. The Rams will face the Westfield State Owls in a three-game series today.  The Gatepost
  • The Framingham State Rams beat the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers 6-2 and 9-4 in a doubleheader on April 14, raising their conference record to 7-3 and overall to 11-13. The team will face Westfield State University in a conference doubleheader on April 18 (today).  The Gatepost
