- ➤ On April 20, 19 of 23 Team Framingham runners completed the Boston Marathon, raising over $100K for local nonprofits. Fundraising will remain open through April 30. MetroWest Daily News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Two Framingham State seniors from Egypt and Ecuador are building real-world marketing skills through the Entrepreneur Innovation Center while gaining social media and event planning experience and preparing for MetroWest Startup Week on April 27 and May 1. The Gatepost
- ➤ Framingham State faculty approved a new GenEd model to take effect in Fall 2027. The model streamlines course requirements by removing a lab science course and reworking overlays for diversity, technology, and civic engagement — making it easier to assess student learning. The Gatepost
- ➤ Planned to A.T. held a financial literacy workshop at the Center for Inclusive Excellence on April 22 where co-CEOs Ashley Rutland and Tiffany Pearson-Kilgore taught budgeting basics and led a SMART goal exercise (helping participants review everyday spending and set financial targets). - ➤ Victoria Adeyemi, a Framingham State alumna with experience at Framingham Public Schools (where she coordinated COVID tests) and Seven Hills Foundation, now works as Reservations Office Assistant and meets many campus contacts every day. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Five student‐athlete alums from Framingham State ran the Boston Marathon today to raise money for local causes and celebrate their college sports careers. They ran with support from family, friends, and fans along the course + shared their passion for running. The Gatepost
- ➤ On April 19, the Framingham State Rams split a doubleheader against Westfield State (winning 7–3 in the first game and losing 6–1 in the second) which snapped the Owls’ 26–0 win streak; the Rams’ conference record is 8–4 as they prepare to host Salem State today for their final matchup. - ➤ The Framingham State Rams won a 15-0 conference matchup against the Anna Maria Amcats on April 18 — improving their record to 3-2 and 6-8. They will host the Bridgewater State Bears on April 25 for their final regular season game. The Gatepost
