- ➤ Bertucci's closed five locations in Braintree, Mansfield, North Andover, Norwood, and Plymouth after filing for Chapter 11 on April 24 due to falling sales and other challenges. The Somerville-born chain now has 15 locations in the Northeast plus nine restaurants still open in Massachusetts, including a new Bertucci's Pronto at 22 Tremont St. in Boston. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ On Monday, the Framingham licensing board approved permits for Sweetgreen to open a salad restaurant at Shoppers World on 1 Worcester Road and for Bombay Baking Company to launch an Indian bakery at 495 Worcester Road—pending a final lease agreement. Sweetgreen is set to open in October with 18 indoor seats and 12 outdoor seats and will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, while the bakery will open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. - ➤ Mayor Sisitsky submitted his Fiscal Year 2026 budget on April 29, which increases city funds by 6.7% and boosts schools by $10.5 million.
