- ➤ Framingham Public Library will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Christa McAuliffe Branch on Saturday, May 16 at 2 p.m. at 746 Water Street. The free event will feature speeches by library leaders and community partners and will offer light refreshments. City of Framingham
- ➤ The MetroWest YMCA is hosting free water safety events for May to educate families on preventing child drownings (the second-leading cause of death for children ages 5-14) in Framingham. Events kicked off on May 11 and include a water safety demonstration at Clearbrook Swim Club on May 23. MetroWest Daily News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ MassBay Community College announced a new associate in science degree in diagnostic medical sonography for the 2026-27 academic year, with coursework combining classroom, lab and clinical practice. Prospective students can join virtual info sessions on Monday, May 18 and Friday, May 22—at the new Framingham campus. MetroWest Daily News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The MIAA has revived the Super 8 tournaments for high school baseball and hockey after a four-year pause. Baseball will begin in spring 2027 and hockey tournaments will start in the 2027-28 season, with local coaches expecting renewed excitement. MetroWest Daily News
