COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On May 21, 2025, Dan Stimson and his team began construction of the new All Persons’ Trail at Sudbury Valley Trustees Wolbach Farm in Sudbury during National Mobility Awareness Month. The trail will feature an ADA-accessible Farm House Path leading to a pollinator meadow and an observation terrace with views of the historic barn—along with a community picnic grove and a planned 1,000-foot extension into the woodland.  MetroWest Daily News
  • Framingham will honor veterans on Monday, May 26 by awarding Medals of Liberty and Medals of Fidelity during an open ceremony at 11 a.m. in Nevins Hall at the Memorial Building—150 Concord St. Other MetroWest communities also plan parades and ceremonies to mark Memorial Day.  MetroWest Daily News

CULTURE NEWS

  • An animated film, Mars: The Ultimate Voyage, will be shown tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. at the Christa McAuliffe Center at Framingham State University—tickets are required with prices set at free for ages 5 and under, $5 for ages 6-12, and $10 for ages 13 and older.  Framingham Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood held its 59th graduation on May 17 where Valedictorian Mitchell Kisgen from Natick will attend Dartmouth and Salutatorian Neilan Fahey from Medway will join West Point—Aadi Aggarwal from Medway received the Xaverian Award, the school’s highest honor, and will attend Tufts.  MetroWest Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Massachusetts law limits outdoor noise by banning equipment like lawn mowers from emitting sounds more than 10 decibels above ambient levels during late night and early morning hours—local ordinances may set stricter rules and residents may report disturbances.  MetroWest Daily News

  • The Daily News poll for Girls Lacrosse Player of the Week is open for nominees who played from May 14—20; voters can choose from nine athletes from local schools and must cast their picks by noon May 28.  MetroWest Daily News
  • Five MetroWest and Milford-area high school football players will take the field in the 47th annual Shriner's All-Star Classic at Hormel Stadium in Medford on Friday, June 13th at 7 pm — the game was moved from Bentley due to field construction.  MetroWest Daily News
