- ➤ Framingham State University awarded 583 graduates their bachelor's degrees on May 23 at the DCU Center (Worcester), where keynote speaker Sheena Collier urged the graduates to see disconnection as a chance to build community. - ➤ On Monday, May 25, many services statewide will be closed for Memorial Day, including banks, post offices, schools and libraries, while grocery stores remain open and trash pickup may be rescheduled. MetroWest Daily News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Massachusetts health officials warn of Lyme disease as tick bites reach seasonal highs, and MIT’s Erin Dawicki is launching an at-home test kit called LymeAlert that gives results in 15 minutes with 5,000 kits shipping in August. Residents should use repellent and check for ticks after outdoor activities. MetroWest Daily News
