SPORTS NEWS

  • The Daily News is holding a vote for Girls Athlete of the Week with 13 candidates (including last week's winner, Tri-County softball player Neila Schweitzer who earned 6,666 votes). Voting remains open until Sunday, May 31 at 6 p.m.  MetroWest Daily News
  • Scotland's Men's National Team will begin its World Cup play at Boston Stadium with a group match against Haiti scheduled for June 13 at 9 p.m. The team will return to Foxboro for a knockout round if they advance + fans from the Tartan Army base themselves in Providence.  MetroWest Daily News
  • Arlington native Miles Robinson was named to the USMNT's 26-man squad on May 26 for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making him the first Massachusetts man to join the team since Geoff Cameron in 2014 & he may play at Gillette Stadium if the team advances.  MetroWest Daily News
