COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Framingham will host its fourth annual Cooler Communities Fair on May 31 at Fuller Middle School from 10 a.m. to noon. The free event features student projects on climate change and energy efficiency as well as tours of local clean energy projects — giving families a chance to learn how to lower the community's carbon footprint.  MetroWest Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Keefe Regional Technical School held its graduation ceremony on May 28 in Ashland and honored 202 seniors—about 60% of them will attend four-year colleges.  MetroWest Daily News
  • Sean Canavan—a Holliston native—will accept his diploma today at MassBay Community College’s 63rd Commencement ceremony on the Wellesley Hills campus. He earned a 3.8 GPA and was honored on the Dean’s and President’s Lists each semester, with his academic success also recognized by his induction into Phi Theta Kappa in spring 2024.  Framingham Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On May 27, the Finance Subcommittee approved Mayor Sisitsky’s FY26 budget proposal of about $383M—roughly $24M more than FY25—after making adjustments following School Committee input. The full City Council will vote on the final approval in early June.  The Frame

SPORTS NEWS

  • The MIAA released boys and girls lacrosse seeds and brackets Wednesday afternoon, showing that the top 32 teams qualified for postseason play. Lincoln-Sudbury earned a No. 3 seed in both tournaments (the boys will face Framingham and the girls will play Newton South) and games will begin Friday.  MetroWest Daily News
  • The MIAA released its 2025 baseball and softball brackets Wednesday morning—setting the seeding for the postseason with first games scheduled for Friday and some contests possibly on Thursday if athletic directors agree. Hopkinton softball earned the No. 2 seed in Division 2 while teams such as Hudson, AMSA, Hopedale and Milford advanced to key rounds as championships are set for early June.  MetroWest Daily News
