GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ Ten probationary Framingham firefighters trained at a former funeral home on Union Avenue on May 28 for basic fire ground operations (including advancing hose lines and search-and-rescue) before the building is demolished. MetroWest Daily News
➤ Framingham’s Water Division began its annual hydrant flushing today to remove sediment from water mains and check hydrants. The program will last four to six weeks with work from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and may cause water discoloration and reduced pressure (EPA states it is safe). MetroWest Daily News
