- ➤ On Thursday, the MIAA Meet of Champions began at Fitchburg State University in 93° heat that left distance runners struggling. Westborough’s Daniel Velez won the pole vault at 14-6 and Lincoln-Sudbury’s Nico Begic won the 200-meter by .01 second—local runner Ava Lombardo of Framingham finished fourth in the 200.
