CRIME NEWS

  • Eight individuals have been charged with stealing over $8.8 million in federal tax refund checks in 2023 and 2024 — including three Framingham residents who allegedly altered checks and deposited them into shell company accounts, and if convicted, they could face up to 10 years in prison.  MetroWest Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Framingham announced a Friday Night Concert Series that will bring live music to parks on Friday evenings. The series will begin with a special Stars & Stripes concert on June 27 at Farm Pond Park with food trucks and fireworks and will run from July 11 through August 22 with no concert on July 4—providing free entertainment for all neighborhoods.  City of Framingham
  • Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky nominated Edward 'Ted' Cosgrove to join the Planning Board and Kristina Johnson to join the Zoning Board of Appeals in a swap that shifts their roles; the mayor will submit the nominations to the City Council later this month for approval.  MetroWest Daily News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Realtor.com data showed that Middlesex County homes sold for a median price of $730,000 in March, up 2.8% from February’s $710,100 — single-family homes reached $812,500 and condominiums and townhomes hit $580,000, though the overall median dropped 2.7% from March 2024.  MetroWest Daily News

  • Season 17 of American Ninja Warrior is underway with 18 New England contestants, including returning fan favorites from past seasons, competing on the obstacle course — viewers can watch every Monday at 8 p.m. on NBC or stream episodes on Peacock the next day.  MetroWest Daily News
