- ➤ A new COVID strain called Nimbus (NB.1.8.1) was found in Massachusetts and across the U.S. early in June and it causes a very bad sore throat that some call a razor blade throat; the strain made up 37% of cases and is now the second most common type. Health experts said approved vaccines still work well to keep people from severe illness. MetroWest Daily News
