- ➤ The Cummings Foundation awarded over $2.5 million in grants to 11 MetroWest nonprofits including two Framingham groups (the Learning Center for the Deaf and Literacy Unlimited Foundation) as part of its $30 million program. Winners were celebrated at an event in Woburn with community leaders speaking, and new funding guidelines will be posted in mid-July. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ Jenna Yazdani, an Eagle Scout candidate, will host a bootcamp fundraiser at CrossFit TILT in Sudbury on Sunday, July 27—this event will raise funds to build a storage shed for SMILE Mass adaptive equipment. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Framingham is seeking residents to volunteer on its five-member Parks — Recreation Commission, and current members are encouraged to reapply though reappointment is not guaranteed. Two seats with terms ending in June have a three-year term, and the deadline to apply is Tuesday, July 15 at 11:59 p.m.—the Mayor will review nominations before sending them to the City Council.
