- ➤ Framingham 325th Celebration Committee is inviting local nonprofits, vendors, and performers to apply for Framingham Fest, a free family-friendly event on October 4 (rain date October 5) at Framingham Centre Common to mark the city’s 325th anniversary. Application deadlines are September 5 for priority entertainment and food vendors and September 15 for all others, and approved participants must bring their own tables, chairs, and 10x10 tents. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Framingham’s 325th Celebration Committee is inviting local artists to submit original designs to transform traffic signal boxes into public art – selected artists will receive a $250 honorarium and work will be installed in Fall. Submissions are due by August 17 and designs will be digitally printed on durable vinyl. City of Framingham
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ CSX Transportation will repair railroad tracks by closing Salem End Road from August 5 until August 6 and then Maple Street from August 7 until August 8; residents will have access while all other traffic must use detour routes + police will be stationed on site 24/7 to manage traffic and safety.
