CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Framingham’s 325th Celebration Committee invites local artists to turn traffic signal boxes into public art for the city's anniversary. Eligible artists may submit up to three designs by August 17—selected designs earn a $250 honorarium and installations will begin in late October. Framingham Source
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Framingham’s Learning Center for the Deaf received a $2,000 grant from the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf to support BIPOC student programs. The grant will help create a formal organization + schedule structured educational and storytelling events at its Marie Philip and Walden schools during the 2025-26 academic year. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Massachusetts regulators approved draft rules allowing social marijuana use at events and establishments and authorized staff to file them with the secretary of state by Friday. The new rules will let adults consume cannabis at hotels, apartments and public events while including safety measures & limits on event sales, with a public hearing planned on Aug. 14 and final rules expected this fall.
