ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 16-year-old boy died last month at Learned Pond Beach in Framingham when only two certified lifeguards were on duty instead of the five required+local officials said they are reviewing lifeguard staffing to improve safety measures+while shortages continue to affect several communities.  MetroWest Daily News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • AccuWeather said that the 2025 season will have 13 to 19 storms with a moderate wildfire risk for Massachusetts from September to November (the risk is mainly in the fall). NOAA and Colorado State University forecast an above-average hurricane season and experts urge coastal residents to prepare for possible impacts (only a tropical storm is expected to hit the state).  MetroWest Daily News
  • AccuWeather says the 2025 hurricane season will bring 13 to 18 storms and shows that Massachusetts will see only one tropical storm with a moderate wildfire risk from September to November. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Framingham Parks and Recreation Department is asking local residents to help design a new splash pad at Cushing Memorial Park near the Academy Building, which will include shade structures, seating and a fully fenced play area. The survey remains open until September 30—community feedback will guide design decisions and water play feature choices in other parks.  City of Framingham
