- ➤ The Farmers' Almanac forecasts a long, cold winter with heavy snow and strong temperature swings in New England and northern regions. It says colder weather will sneak in early and may last through spring—while some southern areas are expected to be milder and wetter. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ The City of Framingham launched a curbside composting pilot program in partnership with Black Earth Compost on August 11th to give eligible households a free curbside bin + a roll of liner bags, part of plans by the Mayoral Composting Task Force.
