  • Framingham played a key role in the big band era as famous musicians—Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra—gathered at the Maridor along Route 9 to mark the city's cultural legacy.  The Frame

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Framingham will host a remembrance ceremony on September 11th at 5:30 p.m. at the September 11th Living Memorial in Cushing Memorial Park to honor the lives lost on 9/11, including 17 local individuals—city officials and honor guards will lead the event and move it to Cushing Memorial Chapel in severe weather.  City of Framingham

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Association for Behavioral Healthcare in Framingham has appointed Sarah Glenn-Smith—CEO of The Learning Center for the Deaf—and Tammy Mello—president and CEO of Key Program Inc.—to its board for two-year terms to set policies that improve mental health and addiction services. Their deep experience in health care, education, and advocacy will drive efforts to expand community behavioral health programs.  MetroWest Daily News
  • MetroWest Medical Center honored three Medway Fire Department EMTs today for their crucial work when 74-year-old Steve Smith went into cardiac arrest after a heart attack in June.
