- ➤ Local officials met on September 2 to discuss ending Program RISE — a syringe service program that gave free tests for HIV and Hepatitis C and helped dispose of needles — and they will seek a new plan at the Board of Health meeting on September 9 as community members worry about needle litter. - ➤ Dancing with the Stars Season 34 will feature Massachusetts-born Hilaria Baldwin, a former ballroom dancer and yoga instructor who represents New England on the show. Rob Consalvo said growing physical assaults on sports officials led him to introduce a bill that would impose fines, jail time, or up to five years in state prison—one of four proposed laws aimed at stopping the violence.
