- ➤ Friends of Callahan, a nonprofit that raises funds for the Callahan Center in Framingham, celebrated 50 years of supporting local seniors at a High Tea event where speakers honored early advocate Evelyn Langley—whose projects made the center more accessible and expanded its services. - ➤ Framingham will host a Repair Café on October 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Scott Hall on 24 Vernon St—volunteers will help fix items from clothing to electronics and advise those in need to bring required parts in advance. Framingham Source

- ➤ Historic VFW Post 9013 on Milk Street in Westborough was sold on September 5th to Nabina’s Salon & Spa owners Nabina and Prakash Adhikari for $375,000, and the building will be renovated—half used for salon and spa treatments and half leased—after years of change from its past as a local meeting place and bar; the owners plan to upgrade the 1947 structure and open the new business next year. - ➤ Homes for All Massachusetts filed a proposal to cap annual rent increases to either the Consumer Price Index or 5% — whichever is lower — with rates set to start on Jan. 31, 2026. The measure excludes buildings occupied by owners with fewer than four units and new properties under 10 years old and must gather 75,574 signatures by Dec. 3, 2026 before a Legislature review for a November ballot.
