- ➤ L.L. Bean, a Maine-based outdoor retailer, will open its 12th Massachusetts store in November in Framingham on Route 9 at Fresh Market Plaza, 84 Worcester Road, Unit #2. The new 20,000-square-foot store will hire up to 85 full- and part-time employees. MetroWest Daily News

- ➤ In June, the Danforth Art Museum received a $4,660,000 donation from Susan Litowitz’s estate—the largest gift in its history that will support expanded exhibitions, education and community outreach ahead of its 50th anniversary.
