GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Massachusetts State Representative Danielle Gregoire returned the Town of Framingham flag from the State House to Mayor Charlie Sisitsky on Friday, September 26 at the Edgell Memorial Library—after which the flag was donated to the Framingham History Center for preservation.  City of Framingham
  • On Sept 28, Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky and challenger Geoffrey Epstein held a debate at the Public Library to discuss development, education, immigration and transparency—each defending different views on tax revenue and school funding while agreeing the city should not be a sanctuary. Voters will decide on Nov 4 as these discussions bring key policy differences into focus.  MetroWest Daily News
  • Today, Framingham crews are milling and paving at the intersection of Beaver Street and Second Street while reducing Beaver Street to one lane. Tuesday and Wednesday, crews will complete trench paving from the Waverly Street end to the dead-end section with a Tarelli Terrace detour—further infrastructure work is planned for spring.  City of Framingham

HEALTH NEWS

  • The CDC says mosquitoes kill more people than any other animal — 51 types live in Massachusetts and some spread West Nile and eastern equine encephalitis. The Massachusetts Department of Health tracks these risks and urges residents to remove standing water and use repellent to stay safe.  MetroWest Daily News
