- ➤ Chipotle will open its second Framingham restaurant on Monday, Oct.6 at 573 Worcester Road — a plaza that also houses Jersey Mike’s and Whole Foods — after the board approved its operating hours from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. despite a commissioner’s concerns about noise in the nearby neighborhood. - ➤ The Haunt, an outdoor interactive theatrical experience, returns to MetroWest YMCA Outdoor Center in Hopkinton with a Halloween theme called The Carnival Comes to Deadwoodville featuring circus clowns, acrobats and eerie games. Performances will occur on Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 24-25 with timed entry, kid-friendly show options and a participation upgrade available for an extra $100 donation — proceeds support community programs. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ State officials released the 2025 MCAS results showing that most school districts remain below pre-pandemic achievement levels; only 13 districts met the benchmark in both English and math—63 met it in one subject. Scores rose for grades 3–8 in English but declined for 10th grade as math results stayed mostly unchanged or fell. MetroWest Daily News

- ➤ Massachusetts immigration lawyers said that the asylum process is long, expensive, and uncertain, with some cases taking ten years and costing thousands of dollars for people seeking protection from danger abroad. They explained that whether an application is filed for those in detention or for those who entered legally, clients often face challenges like being transferred between facilities—prolonging delays in getting legal help. - ➤ Representative Jack Patrick Lewis voted for a supplemental budget bill that supports hospitals and community health centers caring for low-income and uninsured residents including MetroWest Medical Center — which will receive millions for life-saving care.
