CULTURE NEWS

  • Goodnow Farms Chocolate in Sudbury will host its Halloween Haunted Barn Party on Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25 — the event offers ghost tours in a barn built over 200 years ago, jump scares, food, drinks, and proceeds for S.T.A.R.T. animal rescue. Guests must park at the public lot behind Ti-Sales at 36 Hudson Road and take a shuttle to the venue while using caution on uneven surfaces.  MetroWest Daily News
  • Framingham is hosting an Indigenous Peoples Day event on Monday, October 13 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Downtown Common— a historic Indigenous burial ground— that will feature a formal proclamation, student reflections and a keynote address; locals may also join a 'Hike Through History' on Saturday, October 19 to further explore Indigenous heritage while donating a nonperishable food item.  Framingham Source
  • Over 100 artists were nominated for the New England Music Awards and the public can vote online until Oct. 11. The awards ceremony will take place on Nov. 16 at Six String Grill and Stage in Foxborough—tickets cost $37.51.  MetroWest Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • MetroWest Nonprofit Network welcomed 27 nonprofit leaders to its 2025 Certificate in Nonprofit Management program—a 12-week course covering governance, fundraising, and communications—and the program celebrates its 5th anniversary with support from local experts and business partners.  Framingham Source
  • Saint Bridget School will host an Early Childhood Open House on October 22nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.—families can meet staff and tour classrooms that combine strong academics with Catholic values.  Framingham Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On October 7, a local government equity audit was presented to the City Council that examined DEI practices and workforce representation; officials reviewed the findings and will use the recommendations to guide future hiring and outreach efforts—DEI.  The Frame
  • Framingham residents can attend or watch live a public forum today at Edwards Church—39 Edwards St.—where candidates for City Council and School Committee share their priorities and answer questions about key local issues.  MetroWest Daily News
