- ➤ Massachusetts was ranked the eighth-best state for quality of life in CNBC's Top States for Business study, tying with Nebraska and Virginia with a score of 167. The study looked at factors like low premature death rates and strong access to primary care — though poor air quality and expensive childcare hurt its overall score. MetroWest Daily News

- ➤ Senior John Bianchi from Natick won the Bay State Conference cross-country championship, making him the first local champion since his father—Jamey did so more than 30 years ago. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ Franklin High School running back Alex Weber earned his third Daily News High School Football Player of the Week after getting 29.98% of more than 700 votes—he scored four touchdowns for 101 yards in a win over Attleboro.
