- ➤ City officials in Framingham are using nearly 900 survey responses to guide the renovation of the 100,000-square-foot former Marian High School site into a new community center along Union Avenue. The center is expected to offer cultural programs, fitness spaces, and community events but will not include a pool due to limited space—officials are now seeking cost estimates from local architects. - ➤ Natick High School media arts teacher Lisa Olivieri will screen her documentary Recovery City, which offers a raw look at addiction and recovery, in Framingham tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the McAuliffe Branch Library, and a second screening will be held on Nov. 8 at Village Hall on the Common as part of the Access Film Festival—both events include Q&A sessions with Olivieri and film participants. - ➤ Framingham released survey results from 456 residents on a proposed splash pad at Cushing Memorial Park that showed strong support for interactive water play features and safe play zones. The Parks & Recreation team will hold another feedback session on November 20 at Loring Arena at 6:30 p.m.—the project aims to expand outdoor play for local families. City of Framingham

- ➤ Natick goalie Brody Whalen is taking part in the October Saves Goalie Challenge to raise funds for cancer research and patient care and support a friend's mother with cancer. The team of six will work to meet a $20,000 goal while Whalen—who will end his hockey career this winter—leads the local fundraiser. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ The MIAA released the Div. 1-4 field hockey state tournament brackets on Oct. 28 at 11 a.m.—the brackets include 19 South Shore teams with Hingham, Cohasset, and Canton as top seeds. Future soccer and football brackets are set to be announced on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ The MIAA volleyball state tournament brackets were released Tuesday, with Bellingham as the top seed in Division 3 and Hopedale leading Division 5—both setting a clear path in their matchups. Games will begin Thursday unless the teams agree to play Wednesday. MetroWest Daily News
