COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Caring Partners’ Coats for Kids and Families is collecting gently used winter coats at Anton’s Cleaners, Jordan’s Furniture and Rockland Trust locations until Jan 10 to help families in need this winter; local schools, businesses and organizations in MetroWest are invited to join the drive — the program has collected over 1.27 million coats since 1995 and aims to supply about 50,000 coats this season.  MetroWest Daily News
  • The Friends of Callahan encouraged visitors at the Callahan Center to donate unexpired non-perishable food and personal care items to A Place to Turn Food Bank in Natick (ideal items include hot beverages, canned goods, dry pasta) and placed a donation box near the library's book locker (donations began Monday, Nov. 3).  MetroWest Daily News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday morning (8:58 a.m.), a two-alarm fire at 9 Central St. in Saxonville damaged a building (housing both a business and an apartment), leaving it uninhabitable due to water damage and displacing two residents who are receiving help from the American Red Cross while investigators work to determine the cause.  MetroWest Daily News

CRIME NEWS

  • Mayor Charlie Sisitsky denounced antisemitic vandalism when a swastika was found on school equipment last week—he stressed that Framingham stands united against hate and intolerance as authorities investigate the incident.  City of Framingham

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On November 3, family and community members gathered on Main Street Bridge to honor Ginger Esty's decades of service and her role in preserving the historic singing bridge over the Sudbury River as the bridge was renamed in her memory. Local officials like Mayor Charlie Sisitsky and Council Chair Phil Ottaviani spoke about her legacy—highlighting her commitment to the town.  MetroWest Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • MetroWest Medical Center is offering free assistance from certified application counselors to help residents enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace — which opened November 1 with coverage starting January 1 for 2026 — and those without Medicare, Medicaid, or employer-based insurance can get help re-enrolling before December 15.  Framingham Source
