GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Maura Healey said Massachusetts will issue partial SNAP benefits sometime during the week of November 10, but households with income may see their benefits drop to zero. She added that child care, home heating, and other assistance programs are also at risk given the federal shutdown—state leaders are cautious about using the rainy day fund due to credit concerns. - ➤ The Friends of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail will hold a public meeting on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Costin Room at Main Library—49 Lexington St.—to share plans for extending the trail, which will eventually form part of a 26-mile path linking Framingham with Lowell and six nearby communities. - ➤ The City of Framingham will hold its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11 at 11:11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park—if the weather is bad, the event will move indoors to Cushing Memorial Chapel. Lieutenant Colonel Dennis B. Ford will serve as the keynote speaker and a memorial tour will begin at 7:45 a.m. Framingham Source
