  • Mike Miles and Amir Minas work as campus restaurant supervisors at Ram’s Den Grille where they serve students meals like the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Nov. 12, a fire in Corinne Hall Towers caused by a malfunctioning lamp forced evacuation and displaced 23 students to Linsley Hall and other Towers rooms while campus officials assess water damage and repair costs of about $200,000 — the building’s sprinklers worked as intended.  The Gatepost

BUSINESS NEWS

  • On Nov. 28, several Massachusetts malls will offer varied Black Friday hours with most, like Burlington Mall and Wrentham Outlets, set to open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.—while others such as Natick Mall and CambridgeSide will open later.   • The Center for Inclusive Excellence hosted a Taste of Culture event on Nov. 12 at FSU to celebrate Native American History Month by sharing traditional recipes, music, and artifacts with the Natick Nipmuc Tribal Community—helping students connect with indigenous heritage. President Nancy Niemi and Director Jerome Burke joined tribal leaders to honor native traditions and strengthen campus ties.  The Gatepost
  • On November 6, the Swiacki Children’s Literature Festival had Lesa Cline-Ransome and James E. EDUCATION NEWS

  • At a Board of Trustees meeting, Vice President for Student Affairs reported that on November 12 a lamp caused a fire on the sixth floor of Corinne Hall Towers that damaged 24 rooms and displaced 23 students. University officials said they stayed with students during the emergency — estimating damage between $100,000 and $200,000 while planning repairs and relocations.  The Gatepost
  • Framingham State has seen its degree-seeking enrollment drop by 37% over the last decade, falling from 5,275 in Fall 2015 to 3,311 in Fall 2025. The Office of Admissions is boosting outreach with personalized counseling and enhanced financial aid offers—steps set to counter the trend amid demographic shifts and post-pandemic challenges.  The Gatepost

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A small American alligator rescued from the Charles River by wildlife educator Joe Kenney was taken to New England Wildlife Center in Weymouth on Thursday for treatment of a suspected respiratory infection and pneumonia—its size of 16 inches making it vulnerable to cold conditions. The reptile received an antibiotic injection and will be cared for by Kenney until it is moved to a wildlife sanctuary.  MetroWest Daily News

  • Local and state officials reopened the rebuilt Framingham Logan Express terminal on Nov. 13 with 1,000 new parking spaces and 2,658 photovoltaic panels supplying half its power—Mayor Charlie Sisitsky and Massport CEO Richard Davey joined the ceremony on Burr Street.  MetroWest Daily News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Natick girls soccer team advanced to the Final Four for the third consecutive year after defeating Braintree 3—0 in a decisive game.  MetroWest Daily News
  • Framingham State’s women’s basketball team beat the Rivier University Ravens 82-53 on November 12—recording a 2-0 start—by playing strong defense and teamwork. The Rams will host Brandeis University on November 15 to continue their nonconference schedule.  The Gatepost
  • The Framingham State Rams beat the Dean College Bulldogs by 31 to 6 on Nov. 8 at home during Senior Day, raising their conference record to 6 to 2 and overall record to 6 to 3. The team will travel to Worcester State on Nov. 15 for their final regular-season game.  The Gatepost
  • The Framingham State Rams beat Salem three to nil on Nov. 11 and Westfield State Owls three to two on Nov. 13 to earn a spot in tomorrow’s championship match against Bridgewater State Bears. The team led with strong plays by Emma Dobbins and Natalie Reynolds — fueling both offense and defense as they prepare for the final game.  The Gatepost
