- ➤ United Way of Tri-County's Pearl Street Cupboard and Cafe provided Thanksgiving meals for 1,100 families on November 25 — handing out turkeys, produce, and dry goods — with the help of local volunteers in Framingham and Marlborough. The organization will provide around 5,000 meals in November and December. MetroWest Daily News

- ➤ Massachusetts grocery stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27 due to state Blue Laws that stop large chains like Stop and Shop, Big Y, and Market Basket from operating. Some convenience stores, gas stations, restaurants, and pharmacies may open but customers should call ahead to check hours. MetroWest Daily News

- ➤ Framingham State University announced a new Tuition Promise that will cover tuition and fees for Massachusetts undergraduates from households earning $85,000 or less starting in spring 2026. The promise does not include housing or meals—students must complete FAFSA to qualify for extra aid. MetroWest Daily News
- ➤ The Framingham School Committee approved a five-year lease-to-own contract for 86 diesel buses from New England Transit Sales, Inc.—a move to support the district’s new in-house transportation model that increased available bus drivers from 53 to 67 on November 19. The roughly $10.6 million deal, which includes maintenance, repairs, and inspections, will deliver the buses by June while officials plan to assess electric vehicle options later. The Frame

- ➤ On November 25th, the 36th annual Firefighter of the Year awards ceremony at Mechanics Hall in Worcester honored firefighters from several towns, including Framingham, where Gov.
