CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Christa McAuliffe Center hosted a lecture on Dec. 4 that kicked off its Challenger Series to commemorate the upcoming 40th anniversary of the Challenger disaster; speakers recounted McAuliffe's transformative years (including her Framingham upbringing) and noted her lasting impact on education. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Framingham State University is ending the semester with a Toys for Tots drive led by police and featuring five donation bins to surpass last year's 450 toys; it will also host Cocoa, Cookies and Connection on Dec. 17 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Foster Hall to help students. The Gatepost
- ➤ The Rams Resource Center has shortened its hours during a staffing transition as the University seeks a new coordinator. It now serves students Monday 2 to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Friday 12 to 5 p.m. and Thursday 2:30 to 5 p.m., with appointments available when service is not offered. The Gatepost
- ➤ The Christa McAuliffe Center finished installing its new simulation lab on Oct.22, featuring two VR CAVE rooms — one open to the public and one for FSU students — that allow space mission simulations and safe job training. Software will be finished by January. The Gatepost
- ➤ Framingham State University will change winter break services as Dining Commons and the RamTram and Student Transportation Center close Dec. 19 while the Rams Resource Center remains open on select days for food & toiletries and free Catch Connect rides support students on campus. The Gatepost

- ➤ Stella Bailey, a senior setter for Framingham State volleyball, broke the team’s all-time assists record at 3,208 and led them to a MASCAC Championship title. Her record-setting career + leadership set a high bar for future players. The Gatepost
